Unforgettable Trek with my Classmates and Friends

This was our first trek with my classmates and friends in school. It's so different to be with the company of people whom you know have the same habits of enjoying leisure time.

In our sembreak, SY 2012-2013, we returned to Purok 8 Sitio Utan because we have been so amazed with the satisfaction that the place can give and because of that we could not wait for longer time in returning there. Since my other classmates were also amazed of the place they decided too to come with us. We were 15 on this trek and it was a very thrilling and incredible trek, especially almost of the group were beginners.

"Kay mga First Timer lageh!!!Parang papunta lng ng Mall.."

The same with the schedule of the trek we had on August 2012, we started our trek in the afternoon after my classmates’ obligations in school. We started our trek from Purok 6 Tamayong very late in the afternoon and as a result we reached Purok 8 after almost 3 hours. Though, it was very dark and it rained when we were almost in the sitio, we still enjoyed the fun and excitement on our way to the village especially when a leach or “linta” stick on your foot or legs. You will really shout in the middle of the silent and dark place with “OH MY GUSH!!!!”

"Picture2x muna habang nagpapahinga." @ the 2nd river going to Purok 8.

@ Purok 8, wonderful and relaxing village

Giving of reading materials, pamphlets and some school supplies to the kids.

Same purpose on our trek to Purok 8, we tracked also the majestic Sicao Falls but this time with a thrill and twist because of some sort of bad or horrible incident happened.

Instead of river trekking going to Sicao Falls, we preferred to track the trail which was usually the way going back to the village. The weather was not that fine on that day and we had many stopovers that caused us to be delayed to reach Sicao Falls.

@LunchBreak- We really enjoyed our lunch and picture takings in this site.

Forwarding to Sicao Falls, we were very cautious on our steps because the trail was slippery. We always reminded the persons behind us with “Danlog dri hah!!!” which means “Guys! It’s slippery here.”

When we reached Sicao Falls and Tres Marias Falls, some of my classmates were so amazed and they stayed too long in the place. But the rain suddenly came and we really felt very wet and cold. Because the rain was getting heavy, we hurried to go back to the village via river trekking, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THAT WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE WE HAD EVER MADE. As we moved our way to the village via river trekking we suddenly noticed that river was getting big and horrifying. Some of us really felt very worried because we could not pass by to the other side of the river going to the village because the river current might carry us away too.

It was getting dark and the leader of the company decided to find a place for us to take a rest because we might be staying in that place till morning and wait for the river to become safe to pass by.

We stayed for almost 4 hours in the middle of the woods and it still rained.  We really felt so cold because of our wet clothes and the fog was getting thicker. We really craved for help; we shouted “Help…Help!!!” but our voices only echoed. We thought that we would be staying there till the sun rises but luckily a voice responded from the other side of the river.

We really thanked God for the blessing of Help He gave to us. We were so blessed that the couple in the village, owner of the house we stayed, rescued us. It was almost 9PM when the couple found the place we stayed in the woods.

It was a very hard trail going back to the village being hungry and shivering because of coldness. Though we felt very weak, our minds and feelings were very eager to go back to the village, take our dinner and take a convenient sleep. It was almost 6 hours of trek going to the village because we took the trail that would detour from passing the rivers.

It was almost 3 in the morning when we reached the village. Though it was a very dangerous experience, we still keep it as a wonderful memory that gave us lessons to be learned and tested our faith on our selves and especially to GOD.
